One step forward, two steps back

So...I've been lazy. And bad. And I haven't been fully keeping up with my New Year's resolutions. I only lost 2 pounds in January, and I can already tell this week has not been kind to me. Don't get me wrong, I am playing A LOT more tennis, but that also means I'm more hungry. And, instead of eating the same amount I did before when I was exercising half as much, I'm eating 25% more. Obviously that isn't going to help anyone lose weight, least of all me.

And then there's my "book a week" resolution. I actually did finish my book from 2 weeks ago--Chuck Palahniuk's latest that I never finished on Michael & my honeymoon--but I haven't had time, or haven't been in the mood, to write its review. Then I started Fahrenheit 451, but I haven't even reached the half way point, partially because I'm busy and partially because I'm not a sci-fi fan. Regardless, there's no excuse. I've been lazy. Maybe I've been watching too much television, but at the end of the day Michael & I can't read a book together as well as we can watch The Daily Show.

But the good news is my OFA fellowship is well under way. I have 50+ calls to make tomorrow, as well as work on writing a script to be used at our next phone bank. Saturday I have four 1-on-1's scheduled, so that will be interesting. And on Sunday I'll finally get to breathe, if only for a moment or two.

Tomorrow is my mom's birthday and we're going to Jazz Alley to see Tower of Power perform. Maybe I can scrap Fahrenheit 451 and do a write-up on the concert instead?

PS: I have no idea what this picture has to do with the blog entry. Usually there's some sort of correlation, but I really just thought this was pretty. Oh! And Valentine's Day is 6 days away!
